The virtuous cycle of Motta Energia and EBS for the production of 7,000 tons of liquefied biomethane

We were in Schiavon, in the province of Vicenza, to see how 7,000 tons of liquefied biomethane are produced a year! It all starts from 120 local livestock farms that send their effluents (manure, slurry and poultry manure) to two plants – one newly constructed (Motta Energia) and one reconverted (EBS) – where they are treated and transformed into biogas. The biogas generated by the anaerobic digestion process is then purified in biomethane through two membrane upgrading systems, brought to liquid form with two liquefactors and destined for the supply of about 200 trucks. The electrical needs of these systems are met thanks to two cogenerators. This generates a virtuous cycle of resource management, exploitation of the local territory, production of renewable energy and reduction of emissions.
