It's a series in which Mike Diggins shares his knowledge and first hand experiences in gold panning. We started gold panning as a hobby and we believe everyone can do it too. We'd like to share with you what we have learned along the way and what we will continue to learn as we go forward. We're open to all comments and constructive criticisms because we are just having fun, hoping we are doing it right. :D Part 2 of 2: Gold Panning for Beginners - Gold Panning Techniques: In this video, We take the gear you learned about in our last video (Gold Panning Under $100) and we show you how we use it and why we use it that way. I like using the classifier and bucket method because it allows me to put in a lot of good pay dirt through my pan in a shorter time, and I get to rock hound through my classifier. It's easier to find cool rocks when they're wet and clean - So always take a look through your classifier to see if there's anything nifty in it before dumping it out. When you over fill your pan, you're likely to be losing some gold over the sides as you start your stratification. This is why I recommend not filling your pan to the top when you're learning. Gravity is your best friend in panning. Always keep in mind the lowest points in your pan and the fact that you want the gold to go into them. If you're panning with a flat bottom, your gold could be sitting anywhere on that flat bottom, including at the back of your material where it could be washed out on your next rinse. Always ensure that you keep your pan a bit tilted to provide a low trap zone for your gold to settle into. Thank you, My friends. I appreciate ya!
