U.P government alleges caste based riots in Hathras-gang rape case; CM Adityanath names Amnesty

A 20-year-old Dalit girl was gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras and died 14 days later after succumbing to her injuries. The ministers and leaders from different political parties hit out at the BJP government in the state and demanded Yogi Adityanath’s resignation as well. However, according to the Uttar Pradesh government people are sparking caste-riots and are trying to incite people. The U.P government is alleging conspiracy to spark caste-based riots and have filed a second FIR in connection with this case. The U.P government has also released certain documents that provide testimony to how attempts were being made to coordinate and organize protests. The state government has also listed the names of websites which are being used to provoke riots. CM Yogi Adityanath has also in a press conference stated that the foundation of caste-based violence was laid by the Amnesty International and even the foreign funding.
