NUST offers research-only adjunct faculty titles to researchers in two main categories: 1. Academician/Researcher Criteria: The same criteria follow as it would for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor hiring per HR policy. Affiliation: An affiliation with a reputable national or international organization, university, or research center is required, where international is preferred. 2. Industrial Expert/Professional Qualifications: * A PhD and 5 years of industrial experience, OR A minimum of an MS and 10 years of industrial experience. Affiliation: An affiliation with a reputable company or firm such as an SME, Multinational, or Startup is necessary. Note: Basic qualifications vary by category, but benefits offered are generally the same, except for certain benefits offered to those with international affiliations. Benefits and Compensations Fiscal Policy: No fiscal remunerations are offered to adjunct faculty. Affiliation Term: An initial term of 3 years, which is extendable based on output. International Support: International adjunct faculty will specifically receive support for availing inbound travel grants from external sponsors and programs. General Benefits: Payment of publication fees for research papers published with NUST affiliation in ISI-indexed journals. Access to university services such as email, computing hardware/software, library, and research space. Entitlement for publication awards at par with NUST faculty. Joint proposal/grant submission with NUST faculty. Performance Assessment and Renewal Adjunct appointees are expected to comply with university research and innovation policies, including those on intellectual property and commercialization. Renewal requires meeting at least two of the following deliverables during the 3-year tenure: Academician Deliverables Combined authorship of a minimum of 3 research publications. Joint patent. Joint research grant with NUST faculty. Co-supervision of 1 PG student per annum. Industrial Expert/Professional Deliverables Combined authorship of a minimum of 3 research publications. Joint patent with industry. Joint project proposal with NUST FM focused on applied research. Deployment of technological solutions developed at the parent industry. MoU on the use of equipment and chemical resources at the parent company. Co-supervision of 1 PG student per annum. Delivering seminars at NUST Schools/Colleges.
