Kent Coast to Coast - Hiking the Wealdway - Gravesend to Eastbourne -Part 1 -into the countryside

It is time to start another hiking adventure to get me fit and out again after the Christmas break so I start the Wealdway which is a long distance footpath from Gravesend in Kent to Eastbourne in East Sussex a distance of 82 miles joining the North Downs Way to the South Downs Way. This was suggested by a subscriber and I had not thought of doing this before even though it turns out it begins near to where I live. It is like a mini Coast to Coast footpath connecting the Thames Estuary in the north to the English Channel and the South Coast. I soon find I am not fit as I thought I was after a long break from hiking and mainly overnight camping. I want to get back to the main purpose of the channel to encourage people to get out once a week and enjoy the outdoors even with a very busy worklife.
