Our journey across the icy steppe takes us from Manzhouli a bizarre neon Russian border town, to the adrenaline rush of driving a car across the massive, solid ice of Hulun Lake. We stop in Erguna and the Russian minority village of Enhe, documenting exactly what it takes to survive the extreme cold weather and unforgiving environments of China's far north. But our expedition wasn't just about battling the freezing winter. We pushed deep into the forests of Genhe to uncover a hidden cultural anomaly: the Aoluguya Evenki, China’s last reindeer tribe.
