All too often athletes are told to not work out when they are "injured." Working AROUND injuries is much different than working THROUGH an injury. Upon consulting (and clearance) from a medical professional this hockey player was able to successfully work AROUND his broken arm while in a cast. Below is an example of a training session after we performed mobility/activation/speed work. . . . . Block 1: KB Swing (band resisted) to load hips rather than put extra load in the hands. He uses his non-injured hand to grip the KB while overlapping his injured hand. Minimal to no pressure on the injured hand. 3x10 Sset with 1/2 kneeling Y 3x10. . . . . Block 2: slow controlled movements. Band Good morning: 3x10 Split squat 3x10 Straight arm shldr extension pull down. 3x12 . . . Block 3: Swiss Chest Fly 3x10 Slide board variation: time or reps.
