"I'm From" | Monologues From the Manor

Boxer shares his feelings on 'home': Discipline, grit, determination and stamina are all things you need to be a good fighter . However, for one young boxer, the idea of representing where he's from will drive and fuel him through the gruelling routine of training. Starring Steph Hunte-Wilson, this monologue introduces audiences to the history and collective identity of the Manor. It's one of five 'Monologues from the Manor'. The views expressed in this video are accounts of deeply personal stories and unless specifically stated are not necessarily those of Hammersmith & Fulham Council. ____________________________________________ The video series tells the stories of young people in Hammersmith & Fulham with lived experience with gang violence, exploitation and the youth justice system. Young people from in and around West Kensington and the Clem Attlee estate contributed to the monologues, which were then brought to life by professional actors and filmed on the Clem Attlee Estate. Designed to capture the voices and lived experiences of young people in a powerful and authentic way, the project has been delivered by the H&F Gangs Violence and Exploitation Unit (GVEU). The team works to tackle serious youth violence and the exploitation of young people in H&F through early intervention, diversionary activities, education. They also work with the Met Police against gang related crime and networks.
