Hotel El Clandestino in Bocas del Toro is truly a hidden gem. We spent 4 cozy and relaxing days, just living on the water and enjoying the place and its surroundings. El Clandestino is located on San Cristobal Island which is one of the main islands in Bocas del Toro. Sailing from Bocas Town to El Clandestino took around 30 mins. El Clandestino is owned and run by Sebastian, who did an excellent job together with his two dogs, to make us feel right at home. His cooking was delicious and his service top-notch. Living on the water like this is so charming. You are really close to the natural surroundings, and we did get some visits from spiders, geckos, and cockroaches. But this is to be expected and just added to the charm of the place.
