This video introduces and explains both free body diagrams and objects on an inclined plane for A Level Physics. A free body diagram is used to display the forces acting on an object in a simplified way. The forces acting on a free body are often orthogonal (at right-angles) to each other. Objects on an inclined plane often have forces acting on them that are not orthogonal. In this case, we resolve one or more of the forces into horizontal and vertical components or components that are parallel and perpendicular to the plane.
