Ted Ray was the popular British comedian of the 1950’s and 1960’s. He’s probably best remembered for his Radio Show “Ray’s A Laugh” As a music hall performer he would play the violin badly as part of his act Nedio the Gypsy Violinist. In 1949 he started his own Radio show making a success of it but neither the name Nedio or Charlie Olden (Ted Ray’s real name) appeared anywhere in the show. Instead Olden called himself Ted Ray (after a golfer) and it was this name that was used in the show. Co-starring Kitty Bluett. Featuring Peter Sellers, Kenneth Connor. Broadcast on the BBC Light Programme between 1949 and January 1961 Broadcast Copyright The 50 year period of broadcast copyright under section 14(2) of the UK's Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/48/section/14) has expired for all items included in this collection.
