SESSION FIVE OF TEN - (Monday 9 February 2026) 🎉 Half way through! 🎉 Symptoms - tenderness, shooting pains What am I using to help? - continuing to use La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ ---------- I've started radiotherapy and thought I would share the experience in real (ish) time to help someone else going through it or those supporting someone going through it. While each person's experience is different, I hope this helps you understand a little more what's involved. I was diagnosed with a grade 1, NST tumour that was oestrogen and progesterone receptor positive and HER2 positive tumour in my left breast in May 2025. There was no evidence of spread to my lymph nodes (confirmed via surgery in November 2025). The tumour was 31mm (sometimes recorded as 29mm). I'm having a total of ten sessions: five to the left breast and five tumour bed boosts (the latter because of my age - considered to be young for a breast cancer diagnosis). According to University Hospitals Birmingham, NHS Foundation Trust: 'Radiotherapy uses high energy X-rays in the treatment of cancer. Radiotherapy is similar to having a scan, it is painless, and you will not see or feel anything. You do have to lie still for about 15 minutes.' Language used around cancer and its treatment can be emotive, overwhelming and intimidating but I hope to show you what those words mean in practice! Links below to help! 1.
