Tango-Orchester mit Refraingesang (uncredited) - Darf ich um den nächsten Tango bitten? [May I Ask For The Next Tango?] Tango (Rosen – Schwabach) Derby 1930 (Germany) NOTE: Here is one more of the Derby micro-dance records, which are still so popular among fans of the Weimar Republic pop music. Those mass-distributed cheap German records for dancing were usually the anonymously labeled re-editions of most popular German dance bands of the Jazz Age. The records were usually labeled as the Karkoff-Orchester or just the Tanz-Orchester or Tango-Orchester (Tango-Kapelle). This was a trick to avoid taxes, while the true performers were first-rate dance orchestras of the Weimar Republic, such as Dajos Bela, Efim Schachmeister, Sam Baskini, Julian Fuhs, Paul Godwin or Marek Weber and today only well-versed specialists are able to determine which recording belongs to which band. In any case, listening to almost every Derby micro-dance record brings pleasure of listening to a true mainstream performance of the dance music of the Roaring Twenties in Germany.
