Guests: Joe Sabado, Deputy Chief Information Officer at UC Santa Barbara Joe brings over 27 years of IT experience and holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Asian American Studies from UCSB ('97) and an MBA in Information Technology Management from Capella University (2016). He co-directs UCSB's AI Community of Practice and co-leads the Educause AI Community Group. A first-generation immigrant from the Philippines who arrived in the United States at age 11, he serves as a “possibility model” for other immigrants and underrepresented students, having risen from web developer to technology executive while maintaining a deep commitment to mentoring students and staff from marginalized communities. Joe's life mission centers on making positive global impacts through education, compassion, and inspiration. Danny Liu, Professor of Educational Technologies, The University of Sydney Danny is a molecular biologist by training, programmer by night, researcher and faculty developer by day, and educator at heart. A multiple international and national teaching award winner, he is Professor of Educational Technologies at the University of Sydney where he co-chairs the University's AI in Education working group and leads the Cogniti.ai initiative that puts educators in the driver's seat of AI.
