🎣 Hi guys, thanks for tuning in and welcome back to another lure building video! Today we are having some fun with a Temu swimbait blank and turning it into a realistic rainbow trout lure . Even though the quality of the blank is a bit questionable, I really enjoy how detailed these lures look once painted and after upgrading the hardware I’m quite sure it will perform just fine in the water. In this build we try something new: it’s the first time I’ve attempted hot stamping foil on a lure that isn’t one of my own 3D printed designs . Until now I’ve mainly applied foil to PETG prints, so I was very curious to see how the foil would transfer on a different material. During the build we: • Test hot stamping foil on a Temu lure blank • Airbrush a realistic rainbow trout pattern • Add scale highlights and a bright lateral line • Use 3D printed stencils for extra detail • Hand-paint small details like the gill plate • Clear coat the lure and compare the final result One thing I noticed while working on this blank is that painting details by hand becomes much easier when the lure already has contours and molded features to follow . Even though the foil didn’t transfer as strongly as I hoped, I really like how the lure turned out. I’m curious to see how it looks once sunlight hits the foil outdoors. I’m also currently planning my first castable lure blank mold , which will allow us to create highly detailed lure bodies similar to the one used in today’s build. That’s going to be a big step forward for the channel, so stay tuned for upcoming projects! --- 🛠️ Want to make your own fishing lures?
