This video captures a scenic drive through Germany’s Schwarzwald (Black Forest), an area I’ve wanted to experience for years. The journey begins around Baden-Baden, climbing up toward Herrenwies along the B500 and nearby roads, surrounded by dense forest, rolling hills, and that unmistakable Black Forest atmosphere. From Herrenwies, the drive continues on quieter, more unusual forestry roads toward Bühlertal, before looping back to the accommodation along the B500. The Schwarzwald has always held a strange familiarity for me. Long before I ever came here in real life, I first “drove” these roads in the Need for Speed: Porsche game on PC, racing Porsches through a fictionalized version of this landscape. Experiencing it now at a calm, real-world pace felt like closing a long-standing loop. This video isn’t about speed or destinations, it’s about the mood of the Black Forest, the light through the trees, the winding roads, and the quiet sense of scale that makes this region so distinctive.
