Visual impressions of rockfall experiments in Chant Sura, Flüelapass, Switzerland performed by the RAMMS group of WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, Davos. With a systematic approach to real scale induced rockfall experiments, we generate an unprecedented data set used to calibrate and refine the rockfall simulation module RAMMS::ROCKFALL. Filmed by scale vision (https://www.scale-vision.de/) In order to track rotations and accelrerations, an in-situ sensor node is deployed tracking rotational velocities up to 4000 deg/sec and impacts up to 400 g. External videogrammetry allows for full reconstruction of the trajectories providing direcitonal and velocity information at any given time.
