Patient discussing different reconstructions for grasp and pinch 24 months after surgery in the right and left limbs. Participant 12 (male, age 30 years, motor level C6, impairment category B, International Classification for Surgery of the Hand in Tetraplegia group 4). Right limb surgery: transfer of the nerve supplying the supinator to the posterior interosseous nerve; tendon transfer from the brachioradialis to the flexor pollicus longus; transfer of 50% of the flexor pollicis longus tendon to the extensor pollicus longus; and tendon transfer from the extensor carpi radialis brevis to the flexor digitorum profundus. Left limb surgery: transfer of the nerve supplying the supinator to the posterior interosseous nerve, and transfer of the nerve supplying the extensor carpi radialis brevis to the anterior interosseous nerve.
