This time I am doing something different on my Elementalist. The last 2 videos were condi Ele, so this time I switched to power. Dagger / Dagger Lightning Rod with a Toad Familiar. The Toad synergises very well with the Lightning Rod in terms of damage. On top of that it gives you really nice sustain. Trait "Enhanced Potency" makes your protection also reduce condi damage like if it was a Resolution. Then "Familiar's Focus" adds additional 10%. On top of that you get a little bit of barrier every time you use the Toad. This build is not a silver bullet though, there are some very difficult or even impossible matchups out there, so don't expect a 100% win rate :) How does Evoker compare to other Elementalist specs? I think that it is somewhere between a Tempest and a Catalyst. Catalyst is still a superior spec, probably even a whole tier above Evoker.
