Victor "Makaveli" Cuadra, former elite Quake 2 and 3 dueler and legend, is the star of the 500th Episode of 'Reflections'. Makaveli first made his name in Quake 2 and was a top competitor in early CPLs in the game. He became the unofficial Quake 2 world champion after winning an exhibition series against Shub, fresh winner of the European Duel League in 1999. Switching to Quake 3 saw Makaveli again cement himself as one of the best in the world by placing second behind Fatal1ty at the XSI (Xsreality Invitational) and Razer CPL in 2000. Makaveli would enter the Babbage's CPL at the end of the year hoping to lift the trophy only to be shockingly eliminated early. After that Makaveli would make only rare appearances in offline competition. A last hurrah came qualifying for the World Cyber Games finals in Korea in 2001 out of a very stacked domestic qualifier. In Korea results did not go his way and he left the event with some notorious stories repeated on forums for years to come. Makaveli would continue to play online in TDM, most notably for K9, but his days as a professional player were behind him and any entries were strictly for fun. He would return to the Quake scene in Quake Champions and participate as an analyst at QuakeCon in 2017 and 2018.
