In this video we are draining a digital mucoid cyst that was present on a patient for 6 weeks. Digital mucoid cysts are fluid filled cysts that occur on toes and fingers over the joint that is at the end of the digit (distal interphalangeal joint). They can be treated by draining and injecting with a cortisone solution, however they are associated with high reoccurrence rates. If drainage fails to resolve the cyst then surgical excision is indicated.
