3D Sketch : https://www.3dmechanism.com/post/3d-e... Donate PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted... In this CAD tutorial we'll use the features: 1. Extrude Definition: Creates the main solid body. How it works: You sketch a profile and pull it into a solid block or cylinder. Best for: Creating the base shape (e.g., a curved pipe or a slanted housing). 2. Offset Plane Definition: Creates a sketching canvas parallel to a face but at a specific distance away. How it works: The Problem: You want to create a screw mount that stands 10mm above the main surface, or you want to slice a flat spot into a cylinder. The Solution: Select a standard plane (or a face) and drag the Offset Plane arrow to the exact height you need. Now you can sketch on this invisible "glass table" floating in space. Best for: Positioning features precisely in 3D space without relying on existing geometry. 3. Hole Definition: Drills a precise standard opening. How it works: The interaction: You place the hole center point on your Offset Plane. The "Reach": The Hole tool can be set to cut from that floating plane down into the solid body below. Best for: Counterbored bolt holes that need to sit at a specific height. 4. Fillet Definition: Rounds off intersections. How it works: The "Weld": When you add a mounting boss to a main body, the connection is a sharp 90° angle (weak). The Action: Adding a Fillet at the base distributes stress and makes the part moldable. Best for: Strengthening the connection between the boss and the main body.
