See how my Xiaomi Mi Drone 1080p edition (same weight and dimensions as the 4K) fits a little backpack measuring 37 x 47 x 17 cm height (very cabin friendly). The bag used weights 400g. Bag + Xiaomi Mi Drone + 2 batteries + RC weight: 2,8 kg. If you add a smartphone you reach 3 kg. To carry my DJI Phantom 3 Advanced I use a very comfortable YX bag. It weights 1,7 kg (the official hardshell is 2 kg). YX bag + DJI Phantom 3 Advanced + 2 batteries + RC + some accessories: 4,5 kg. If I add a tablet (which I usually do) it's 4,8 kg. 5 kg If I also add my phone. FYI (since I hardly find it online I share it here) the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced/Pro remote control weight is: 840 g. Conclusion: despite an inferior but still acceptable camera quality, the Xiaomi Mi Drone 1080p is more portable than a DJI Phantom 3 drone. It's 2 kg less to carry around... 2 packs of milk! If you are like me, going around by bike, public transports etc. you may like to save some weight! If you are by car it doesn't really matter I guess. For vacationing it matters, since you have to respect the cabin size etc. also a smaller bag looks less suspicious than a big one... You may also consider a DJI Mavic Pro or a DJ SPark, they both cost much more but are more portaböle than this see links below.
