In this video I’m reacting to John Campea and Robert Meyer Burnett as they break down and praise Wonder Man — and while they think it’s a strong Marvel show worth making more like it, I honestly felt something different. Wonder Man is the latest Disney+ series from Marvel Studios that’s part of the MCU’s Phase Six. It’s eight episodes starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, an actor with hidden superpowers who is drawn into the wild world of Hollywood and meta commentary on fame. Critics and commentators have praised it for being character-driven and different in tone from typical Marvel fare, with some calling it refreshing and even one of the best shows Marvel’s done. But that difference is exactly where I disagree — I enjoyed it, but I still feel it doesn’t deliver the superhero storytelling I expect from Marvel. It’s more character drama with powers rather than a superhero show in the traditional sense. 🎬 In this reaction you’ll see: • Their thoughts + why they love it • My reactions and disagreements • Why the show works for some… but feels off to me • Whether I think Marvel should make more shows like this 👇 Tell me in the comments: Do you think Wonder Man works as a Marvel superhero story — or is it more drama than action?
