Born and raised in Sendai, Japan, Tadashi moved to the United States in 1973 where he discovered fashion design and went on to work with famed costume designer Bill Whitten. Tadashi launched his own fashion line in 1982. Today his designs are carried in more than 1,000 major department and specialty stores worldwide. In 2007, Tadashi launched the “Tadashi Shoji” Runway Collection to rave reviews. Joining his successful ready-to-wear collection and kid’s line, the designer just launched his first fragrance, Eau de Rose, and an affordable luxury bridal collection and accessories line in 2017.
