The Pub Chef Of the Year competition 2025! Ahead of the competition, we teamed up with Eat Wild, RAK Ceramics, the British Institute of Innkeepers, and Salon Culinaire to host a day focused on wild meat. This day provided valuable insights into the nutritional benefits, ethical sourcing, and affordability of wild meat, which we hope the competitors found useful. The competition itself was exciting and fast-paced, offering competitors a great platform to showcase their skills, gain recognition, and build networks within the industry. This year’s brief centred around game, with competitors incorporating an Essential Cuisine product into their venison or pheasant dishes. It was thrilling to see their creations! Congratulations to Rick Owens for winning the 2025 title with his venison dish. The balance of flavours, seasoning, and harmonious pairing of colours and textures truly elevated pub dining. A huge thank you to all the competitors for their creativity and hard work. It was inspiring to be part of such a special day.
