A big effort to tidy up the house after all the mess created in the last few weeks. First, getting various equipment and materials into better order. Enabling a clearer look at the impact of the new windows on both the inside and outside. Then clearing all of the rubble created from the work on the walls and windows. Nearly all of the stone and mortar rubble will be used as a base layer on the ground floor. To make sure of the floor layer levels I first marked up some key levels with the laser. Then I was able to move and smooth rubble across the floor. Followed by a day of compacting the rubble into a packed gravel base layer, using a battery powered rammer from Wacker Neuson. There was a visit from Billy in the middle of the week and at the end some final tidying and organising in readiness for next bigger phases of work. - - - - chapters - - - - 00:00 intro 00:36 morning 1 01:36 upstairs 04:26 scaffold & windows 06:43 rubble clearing 09:08 laser & levels 11:42 rubble time 16:06 short visit(or) 19:10 rammer 22:23 rammer 2 25:53 day 5 - open area 28:14 back & up 30:30 outro - - - - about my channel and its videos - - - - My channel is about the renovation and restoration of an old stone house on a hill in Catalunya (North East of Spain). The house is near the Costa Brava and has magnificent views of the forest around it and the Mediterranean Sea. The house has many beautiful old features, including its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, ancient terracotta tiles and many quirky parts added over the centuries. At the moment, I am working on the house on my own as I try to turn it into a dream home in harmony with the nature and culture that surrounds it. The house is not in France or Italy and is not a Chateau or Cabin, but I watch and am inspired by channels that are. Especially Martijn Doolaard and Dan Preston's Escape to Rural France. I love Martijn's style, philosophy and cinematography and Dan's energy, humour and ambition. I'm trying to include some of these attributes in my videos.
