Beach Fly is the reggae inspired, feel good musical project lead by John DeMari, host of the 2 Minute Podcast, where he got his start, interviewing some of his favorite artists like Iration, Pepper, and Slightly Stoopid. Though based in Florida, Beach Fly was discovered in the Redwoods of California around a bonfire. One night, while at the Camp Navarro music festival shooting interviews, John and the boys played their original music at the festival campfire. The response was electric! Their performance was noticed. And it drew interest from heavyweight reggae/pop producers Carter Reeves of Surfer Girl and Johnny Cosmic of Stick Figure. They’re very grateful for this moment. John and the crew decided to start a band: Pops (lead guitar, backing vocals, absolute chiller) and Sven (percussion, vibe machine) They've produced their first album's worth of songs with Carter's guidance and mentorship. Most recorded at Surfer Girl’s cozy studio in LA. Beach Fly’s homegrown, organic, sound draws influences from bands in the modern reggae scene like Slightly Stoopid and Rebelution, as well as favorites like Jack Johnson and Xavier Rudd. Beach Fly is out to transport you to a sun-drenched, tropical surf side, where the times are good. 2024 will see their first songs released, produced by Surfer Girl, Johnny Cosmic, and E.N Young.
