Ranula Removal in Dog | Oral Salivary Cyst Surgery In this video, we perform surgical marsupialization of a ranula, a large sublingual salivary cyst, in a dog. The ranula was interfering with the patient’s ability to eat and appeared tense on oral exam. A portion of the cyst wall was excised, and the remaining edges were sutured to the mucosa to allow continuous drainage and prevent recurrence. This is a practical technique used for oral mucoceles, especially when removal of the entire salivary gland is not feasible. This case is ideal for veterinary students, new graduates, and clinicians managing salivary mucoceles or other oral soft tissue pathologies. ⸻ 🐾 What’s Covered: • Clinical presentation of an oral ranula • Intraoral surgical approach • Marsupialization technique and suturing ⸻ ⚠️ Educational Disclaimer: This video contains real veterinary surgical footage, including oral tissue dissection and cyst marsupialization. It is intended for educational purposes only and not for entertainment. Viewer discretion is advised. All procedures were performed by a licensed veterinarian under appropriate anesthesia and sterile conditions.
