CHRIS REEVE's Knife Blade Shape Dilemma SOLVED!

In this video, I'll attempt to solve Chris Reeve's knife blade shape dilemma by exploring the three primary blade shapes CRK uses. If you're a knife enthusiast, you won't want to miss this! There are three primary blade shapes CRK uses. Traditional/Drop Point, Tanto, and Insingo. When you are spending the kind of money that Chris Reeve Knives demands, you may find yourself in a quandary as to which blade is right for you. A lot of factors do enter into it. For me, I've chosen the Insingo. It is a cardboard cutting machine, offering lots of cutting edge. On that note, the Tanto offers the least amount of edge, so keep that in mind. The Insingo is also great in the kitchen as a slicer/dicer and carver. Also, lots of cutting edge to help with those tasks, and with the very subtle curvature, you don't have to cock your wrist up in the air to take advantage of the edge closest to the tip. This may or may not come into your decision-making, but the Insingo is the least "stabby" looking and may raise fewer eyebrows should you take the knife out in view of the general public. The Drop Point is very traditional and still very useful. I've always felt it was a very expensive, one-hand opening, titanium-handled Buck 110. So, if that is your idea of the perfect knife blade and are a die-hard traditionalist, then this blade may be your thing. The Tanto is a very cool blade and their interpretation of the Tanto is quite lovely. I like it very much and found it actually fun to sharpen. However, unless my day was to be spent prying slugs out of wood for forensics testing, or having to stab into stuff, I find the blade shape to be the least useful. It is obviously the most "stabby" looking. But also incredibly cool looking. If you are looking for cool, then, by all means, get this one. But, remember, that tanto point is at the expense of a lot of edge. Which one would you choose? Let me know in the comments. Not all my videos about CRK are so positive.
