Lakewood NJ House Explosion & Fire – Victim Rescued from Burning Home 11/1/23

Around 2:15 PM, Lakewood Police and Firefighters responded to reports of a possible house explosion and fire on Sampson Avenue in Lakewood, New Jersey. Callers reported visible flames and heavy smoke. First-arriving Chief 1 requested a working fire assignment due to heavy smoke in the area. On arrival at 325 Sampson Ave., firefighters found a one-story wood-frame dwelling with fire and smoke showing. Engine 5 stretched a line to attack the fire while Ladder 5 began a primary search. During operations, crews received reports of a trapped occupant inside one of the units. Firefighters located a victim in the “B Unit” and quickly removed them from the structure, transferring care to EMS. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. No other injuries were reported. Mutual aid companies assisted on scene for roughly three hours.
