VOR 13L - Icelandair Boeing 757-300 Fast Approach & Landing w/ ATC at John F. Kennedy Int'l Airport

Finally, the weekend's here! For today's video, here's an Icelandair Boeing 757-300WL landing at JFK, flying the VOR 13L approach. It was awesome to film the VOR 13L during planespotting, and now, experiencing it from the inside was even better! We were also quite fast, our approach VREF + 5 was 150kts! The approach was flown by the first officer, and the captain was PNF. It was also the FO's first time flying this approach, and he did an excellent job. I included LiveATC recordings for Kennedy Tower and Ground (landing clearance, taxi). During the final stages of the approach, we pass over Floyd Bennett Field. This was the fist municipal airport in the New York City area, but currently, it is a park. We also pass over Canarsie, Howard Beach, and we can see runway 13R/31L during the turn as well! We landed quickly, but the autobrakes decided not to kick in until much later during the roll out, so manual braking was used. Because of this and our speed, we crossed runway 22R, and had a pretty long taxi back - it was cool to see all of the lights in action at JFK though! :) And for the two Icelandair pilots that gave me an awesome tour of the cockpit and flew us over to Kennedy, thanks for the five-star flight!
