The best defense is a good offense, or so they say. In this case, the earlier the offense, the better. You start with a sprawling base and a large army. The terrain is complex and there are multiple chokepoints to take advantage of. Your 2 Forts and 2 Fortresses cover all approaches to your base, and you will lose if you lose all of them. Your goal is to stockpile 30K Gold, 40K Iron, and 50K Coal. You have no friends in this map, instead, you get multiple native enemies: The Hurons (Blue) are active and closest to your base. Their proximity to your southern Fort (just west of it) and the wild animals make their start the slowest out of your active enemies. The Delaware (Green) are active, northwest of your base. They will grow unimpeded unless you sally out to attack them The Iroquois (Orange) are also active, north of the northern lagoon. They are similarly dangerous to the Delawares. The other Native Americans (Violet) have several contiguous bases, but no economy, so they will scale poorly over time. Their bases are well defended and will repair their buildings. They will spawn units to raid you depending on buildings. These are Warriors with Tomahawk (Huron Barracks), Archers (Delaware Barracks), Archers (Wigwam of the Hunters), and Mounted Pikemen (Stables). Abandoned buildings (Black) can give you increasing amounts of resources when captured, depending on how long you wait before you do it. The Wigwam of the Hunters will give you Food, the northern Storehouse will give Iron and Coal, and the northwestern Storehouse will grant Gold. You want to immediately set up your base into high gear and attack at the same time. Don't hesitate to pause, as the first few minutes are vital for an effective rush. Your active enemies will snowball out of your control if left undisturbed, so you gotta knock them out if you don't want to be overwhelmed later on. Send off the majority of your troops (Dragoons are vital here) to the Delawares and Iroquois, the Hurons can wait for a bit longer. Leave your Formations as reserves and garrison your defensive buildings, or Violet's early raids will do significant damage. The key to defeating the active CPUs is disabling their unit production. To do this, kill their Peasants and destroy their Dwellings. They don't start with too much Wood, so they won't be able to rebuild if you also prevent their Storehouses from working. Use your surviving attackers to deal with the Hurons. Make sure they have no units left to rebuild with In terms of economy, Food is the most important early on. You will need to pump out Peasants and upgrade your Mines (except Stone). Upgrade your Food income since the first Mine upgrade won't be enough to sustain your Fortresses' firepower, even with Purple as the only remaining opponent. Your Western Fortress covers its western side nicely, but it is also a threat to your nearby buildings with its cannonfire. You could lose multiple buildings if you allow enemies within its range in its eastern side. You will have to push keep the Bison in check and push your northern frontline further. Trappers and Formations can aid in these respective tasks. Manning the northern chokepoints created by the water will also enable your eastern Fort and Fortress to produce units and reinforce your forward lines. A Log Cabin above the eastern cliffs will also work wonders on sneaky enemy attacks, who will treat that chokepoint as a weak spot to attack through. With good enough positioning, and 18 Peasants in each mine, you can just sit tight and see your resource count grow until you've won.
