Dune Prophecy explores the beginnings of the sisterhood, focusing on how they first acquire their extraordinary mental abilities. These powers, which are portrayed in the Dune novels and films, allow the Sisterhood to manipulate politics and influence their rivals. However, they aren’t the only ones in the story who possess these remarkable abilities, much to the frustration of one particular character. Travis Fimmel plays Desmond Hart, a new character introduced in the Dune Prophecy TV series, and he’s much more than he initially appears. Similar to a future ally of Paul Atreides, Hart is portrayed as a humble soldier, believed to have been granted special abilities on the planet that gives the franchise its name. Although the full extent of these powers isn’t clearly defined, they are the one force in the series strong enough to counter the manipulative tactics of the sisterhood. As mentioned, Desmond Hart is an original character for Dune Prophecy, but he shares similarities with other figures in the franchise. Visually, he closely resembles Jason Momoa's portrayal of Duncan Idaho from Denis Villeneuve's Dune film.
