The dualization of the Faisalabad-Chiniot-Sargodha road, from Kamalpur Interchange to Tehsil Chowk Chiniot, covering 24 km, is progressing well. In Section-I (8.53 km) of District Faisalabad, clearing work has been done on about 4 km on one side and 5 km on the other. The Commissioner called a meeting on-site with officials from Highways, FESCO, Cantonment Board, PTCL, Sui Gas, and the Municipal Corporation to receive detailed briefings on the progress of their respective tasks. Sui Gas officials reported the completion of line relocation, while FESCO confirmed the removal and relocation of electric poles, with wire installation to commence on Monday, aiming for completion in 20 days. Cantonment Board officials announced the replacement of the sewer line from Daewoo Bus Terminal to Qainchi Mor, with connections expected to be completed within two weeks. EXEN Highways shared that an additional Rs. 275 million has been released for the flyover project, and work is progressing as scheduled. The Commissioner noted the unauthorized construction of a private bakery on the flyover route, which obstructs road construction. A notice was issued, giving the owner seven days to comply with the approved plan, with warnings of action in case of non-compliance. The Commissioner also directed measures to ensure smooth traffic flow on both sides of the flyover and advised shopkeepers to dismantle unauthorized constructions on the rainwater drains, warning that non-compliance will result in municipal action.
