SynthEyes Essentials - 01 Introduction to 3D Matchmoving and Tracking [Boris FX]

If you're just starting in SynthEyes, this should be the first video you watch. SynthEyes expert, Matthew Merkovich gives you a fast overview of matchmoving, the SynthEyes interface, and how to do your first 3D camera solve. You'll learn how to Auto matchmove, and then what the right steps are to do it manually to get the best results. LEARN MORE ABOUT SYNTHEYES HERE : https://bit.ly/3vO3j62 SynthEyes is a powerful 3D tracking and match moving application that can be used to recreate a 3D point cloud from footage. This point cloud can then be used to insert 3D objects into the footage or to create other visual effects. In this video, you'll learn: • How SynthEyes does an Auto track workflow to create a 3D scene. • SynthEyes uses a technique called "blips" to identify potential tracking features in footage. • Blips are then converted to trackers, which are used to solve the camera motion and recreate a 3D point cloud. • The Hpix value indicates the average error of how badly the points in the 3D point cloud don't align with the 2D trackers. • A high Hpix value indicates that the tracking is inaccurate. To improve the tracking accuracy, we can do the following: • Use better quality footage. • Manually add or remove trackers. • Adjust the tracking parameters. #vfx #matchmove #3dtracking // C H A P T E R S // 0:00 What is SynthEyes? 0:55 Overview of the Rooms and doing an Auto Track 2:32 The Features Room.
