For example, the Turkey-based new media art collective Ouchhh has produced numerous large-scale works utilizing LED walls and projection mapping. In a 2023 installation presented in Taiwan, large LED screens were arranged in a maze-like configuration, allowing visitors to physically walk through the space and experience the visuals from multiple angles. Rather than functioning as standalone displays, the LED structures formed a unified visual system, transforming the entire environment into an immersive artistic medium. LED technology is also increasingly integrated into commercial architectural projects. At certain shopping mall opening events, circular LED bands have been installed between floors, and oval-shaped transparent LED screens have been suspended in atrium spaces. These transparent displays create a sense of visual lightness while delivering strong impact. However, effective use of transparent LED requires careful content design—particularly in the control of black space, brightness levels, and visual balance—to maintain both clarity and structural elegance. In China, large-scale nightclubs often incorporate LED panels across walls and ceilings, synchronizing them with lighting and sound systems to create dynamic, immersive environments. In such spaces, LED is not simply a display surface; it becomes part of a comprehensive spatial system integrating architecture, lighting, and audiovisual design. These examples demonstrate that LED is no longer just a “screen”—it is a material for constructing space itself. Technical factors such as luminance (cd/m²), refresh rate (Hz), pixel pitch, LED chip quality, and color accuracy directly influence the final artistic outcome. A deep understanding of hardware performance enables more refined and intentional creative expression. As digital art and immersive environments continue to evolve, the convergence of LED technology and artistic design will only become more significant.
