This film was taken by Lady Kendall, wife of Sir Charles Kendall, High Court Judge in Indian Civil Service. Timestamps with detailed description: 00:00 - The footage begins showing a sign which reads Mr. Justice Kendall I.C.S. Quick cut footage shows the Kendalls' home, gardens, servants, oxen being led to a well, the lawn being mowed, then the Kendalls family (Clare and Barbara) and a group of Indian people (children and adults). A British family relax with a gramophone in the shade and walk in the garden. Kendall's car is shown, and Barbara plays croquet with a man. British couples play tennis against one another. Indian men sit atop decorated elephants, and a British VIP arrives and mingles with Indian dignitaries. 03:56 - Two young Indian boys walk with an older Indian boy. Indian men work with two pairs of oxen to draw water out of a well. 04:48 - A British woman walks in the garden, supervising Indian men working (cleaning paths, watering plants etc.). 06:31- A group of British people gather at a train station, and Kendall leaves by train. An Indian man washes his clothes in a public fountain. The footage continues from on board the train as it leaves Allahabad station, while British people on the platform salute and wave to the camera. There is then extensive footage from inside the train of the passing town and countryside and arriving at Chheoki station. 07:18 - British people, the men wearing white uniforms or suits and the women dressed formally, board a ship via a metal gangway. There is then footage from the deck of the ship of the seashore, coastal landmarks and of other passing ships. The sequence ends with footage from the deck of the ship. 08:13 - Detailed footage of groups of Indian men and boys working in a field on their haunches. 09:13 - Nancy Kendall rides a horse along a garden path. There is more footage of British men and women playing tennis while Indian ball boys run to get tennis balls, and of other games (squash) and then of British people sitting with drinks and chatting. 10:52 - Nancy and another woman play with two Dachshund dogs. 11:22 - Two British women and a British man walk in Benares (Varanasi), while Indian men and women work by the beach and a small Indian child stands in the center of the frame and stares down the lens. There is footage of boats and of people washing their clothes and themselves in the river. 12:06 - Footage of an Anglican wedding, with many British families, couples, adults and children arriving by car and on foot. The Bridge and Groom leave the church in a car and there is then footage from the reception and of the bride cutting the wedding cake, also of various wedding guests (adults and children) enjoying themselves. 14:09 - A group of Indian cavalry go past on horses, then a carriage with a British dignitary stops and a man and woman disembark.
