The locals believe that this is because the doors were designed to fit the height of the Mudaliya, who is a short person. After entering the main entrance, one can enter the lobby called Maha Bangalawa. There is a photograph of the Maduwanwela district in its living form, which shows a three-dimensional form consisting of a frame with delicate carvings made of the trunks of Siambal and Kanamediriya trees. The corridor, which is decorated with wooden carvings, is decorated with plates with the picture of Queen Victoria on the floor in the reception hall of the palace. The outer wall of the Maduwanwela palace, which is decorated with three walls, is made of solid black stone. The entrance to it is called the “Gal Uluwassa”.
