Mercedes-Benz Launches eArocs 400 Electric Construction Truck. Daimler Truck has officially unveiled the Mercedes-Benz eArocs 400, a battery-electric construction truck engineered for demanding urban and off-road applications. The eArocs 400 expands Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ growing electric portfolio, bringing zero-emission capability to a segment traditionally dominated by diesel-powered vehicles. Designed for short-radius construction logistics, the truck targets operations such as concrete transport and material hauling, where predictable routes and depot-based charging make electrification viable. Technically, the eArocs 400 is built on an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and features two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs with a total installed capacity of 414 kWh. This setup prioritizes durability, safety, and long service life—key requirements in construction environments. The truck supports DC fast charging up to 400 kW (CCS2), enabling a 10 to 80 percent recharge in approximately 45 minutes, minimizing operational downtime. Powering the vehicle is a central electric motor paired with a 3-speed transmission, delivering 380 kW of continuous output and up to 450 kW peak power. This configuration ensures the torque and traction necessary for heavy-duty construction tasks, including operation on uneven terrain. The truck also integrates an electric power take-off (ePTO) system, allowing equipment such as concrete mixers to run fully electrically, further reducing emissions and noise on job sites. In terms of operational range, the eArocs 400 offers up to 200 kilometers as a concrete mixer and up to 240 kilometers as a tipper, aligning with typical daily construction use cycles. The vehicle is expected to achieve significantly higher energy efficiency compared to diesel equivalents, contributing to lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact. The model will be available in 8x4 axle configurations with a gross vehicle weight of approximately 32 tons, tailored for core construction applications. Its robust chassis and high ground clearance retain the durability associated with the conventional Arocs lineup, ensuring it can withstand the harsh conditions of construction sites. With the launch of the eArocs 400, Daimler Truck continues to push forward its strategy of decarbonizing heavy transport. The vehicle is positioned as a practical, production-ready solution for construction companies seeking to meet stricter emissions regulations while maintaining productivity. #eArocs400 #mercedes #trucks #recanything #novo #recn
