Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats in Tamil / Bharath Ravindran / Bharath Academy. 'Ode to a Nightingale' is one of the highly admired odes in English literature. In April 1819, Keats was staying with is friend Charles Brown. A nightingale built its nest near the house. One morning Keats took a chair and sat at the grass plot under a plum-tree. He sat there for two or three hours. When eh returned he had some scrap papers. With the help of Keats, Brown arranged the stanzas of the poem in a sequence. Thus the ode is a spontaneous expression of Keats. The poem is highly sensuous. In this ode beautiful word pictures follow each other in succession.
