Screw cutting a brass Acme nut in the lathe........

Part 5 of the Rapidor power hacksaw, donkey saw vice restoration. I'm using a hand ground single point high speed steel acme profile thread cutting tool bit. This is mounted in a quick change tool post on a Harrison metal lathe. I also a use a Henry vacuum cleaner to extract the brass chips from within the bore as they are being cut. The nut is machined from start to finish from a piece of a brass rod. It is slightly oversize in diameter for an interference fit when it's finally installed in the cast iron moving jaw vise mechanism.
