The Myrtle Beach Police Department is providing an update on the officer-involved shooting that occurred April 26, 2025, along Ocean Boulevard, as well as the related events before and after the incident, that we believe are all connected. This update is available by viewing the Critical Incident Community Briefing video below. This update reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to transparency and shares the facts currently known. The investigation is complex and involves individuals charged as juveniles, making shareable information limited by law. We appreciate the community’s patience as this is still an active investigation. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is leading an independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting. In consultation with SLED, it has been determined that dashcam footage from the incident may be released to the public. The specific nature and origin of the injuries sustained by the 11 individuals remain part of SLED’s ongoing investigation. So far, the Myrtle Beach Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection with incidents that happened in the city before and after the officer-involved shooting. Acts of violence are taken seriously, and will not be tolerated in our community. Public safety remains our top priority. If you have any information regarding these cases, please call the MBPD at 843-918-1382. Information may be shared anonymously.
