Her story begins at the tender age of 14 when, while still studying in the sixth grade, her life took a drastic turn as she was married off due to her father's deteriorating health. Her dreams of education and a bright future were shattered as she entered a world of pain and suffering. Pari’s wedding night turned into a nightmare when her husband, under the influence of drugs, physically assaulted her. This abuse continued daily she was beaten mercilessly and subjected to marital violence against her will. Despite enduring unimaginable pain, she remained silent, fearing societal judgment and family dishonor. Her in-laws dismissed her suffering, reinforcing the belief that a woman has to tolerate everything after marriage. When Pari became pregnant at a young age, her family suggested an abortion to protect her future and allow her to remarry. However, she refused to take the life growing inside her, choosing instead to endure the abuse for the sake of her unborn child. Even during her pregnancy, her husband’s violence did not stop he once attacked her with a knife, leaving her wounded. After giving birth through a difficult cesarean section, Pari faced further neglect and abuse. Despite her fragile health, she worked tirelessly cutting wheat in the fields and learning sewing to provide for her son. Her husband spent all his earnings on drugs, leaving her to struggle for necessities. Eventually, the abuse escalated to the point where her family intervened and brought her back home. Through sheer determination, Pari chose to leave her abusive marriage and rebuild her life. Her powerful testimony on Josh Talks Asha aims to inspire women facing domestic violence to find the courage to speak out and reclaim their lives.
