Turn on the subtitles and... join me in this vlog where I am celebrating Tsiknopempti, the Greek “Meat Thursday”, before the Easter fasting period begins. I invited friends over for a full homemade feast withtraditional Greek dips, marinate and grill different meats, cook vegetarian skewers, and set the table for a cozy evening together. But this video is not only about food. On the second day, I prepare a farewell and birthday gift for a friend from my theatre group, arrange flowers for Valentine’s Day, and enjoy a slower, relaxed second day in the kitchen using leftovers in a creative way. I turn the remaining grilled meats and vegetables into Vietnamese–Greek fusion spring rolls, a simple and relaxed cooking session that brings together different cuisines in a fun way. It is a mix of cooking, hosting, and a little bit of everyday life in between. If you enjoyed cooking along, feel free to like, subscribe, and let me know which recipe you would like to try yourself. 🍽️ What I Cooked in This Video Tzatziki: The most famous classic Greek yogurt dip with cucumber and garlic. 1 cucumber 500 gr of Greek yogurt full fat 3 medium cloves of garlic Salt, black pepper, olive oil, and wine vinegar Tyrosalata (Cheese Spread): 1 big bell pepper 400 gr Greek yogurt full fat 200 gr Cottage cheese full fat 200 gr Feta cheese Salt, black pepper, olive oil, and vinegar. Hummus (Classic & Spicy Version) (No tahini in this one as a personal preference!): 492 gr of strained Chickpeas 1 clove of garlic Juice of 2.5 lemons Salt, olive oil, paprika, and garlic powder (+ chilli powder for the spicy one). Grilled Meats for Tsiknopempti Marinated pork neck & pork belly skewers: (Prepared 16 hours before grilling) 1.2 kg of pork neck 600 gr of pork belly 1.5 onion Salt, black pepper, pepper mix, paprika, onion powder, oregano, olive oil, lemon juice, and soya sauce Chicken skewers: (Prepared 5 hours before grilling) 1.2 kg of boneless chicken thighs 40 gr of butter 2 tbls of mustard 4 tbls of Greek yogurt full fat Salt, black pepper, pepper mix, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder olive oil, and soya sauce Lamb chops: (Prepared 5 hours before grilling) Salt and black pepper Oven Potatoes: Seasoned with salt, pepper, sweet paprika, and olive oil. Grilled Vegetarian Skewers: 400 gr King trumpet mushroom 2 big carrots 1 medium zucchini 1 big bell pepper 1 broccoli 5 medium tomatoes Olive oil, salt, and black pepper Vietnamese–Greek Fusion Spring Rolls: Grilled chicken and vegetables Rice paper Sweet chilli and soy sauce
