We look at Abdul Sattar Edhi - a much loved Pakistani philanthropist, social activist, ascetic, and humanitarian. He passed away on the 8th of July 2016, leaving behind a nation (and arguably the world) in mourning. He was the founder and head of the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan and ran the organisation for the better part of six decades. Khadija Ahmed reports on his life and the legacy that he has left behind. Joining to discuss from Karachi in Pakistan - we were honoured to have his son, Faisal Edhi, join the programme and Sabin Agha - a journalist & documentary film producer, who was one of the producers in the documentary film 'Defenders of Karachi' - which involved the Eidhi Foundation.
