I just received this retro Tamagotchi Connection from Sweden. It was an evolution of the original Tamagotchi (1996), featuring new gameplay elements and, most notably, infrared communication that allowed Tamagotchis to connect with each other. I used to own one of these as a kid and I feel really nostalgic about them. Sadly, it became pretty difficult to find genuine ones, but I was lucky enough to find a seller. Since these have now become collector's items, they now fetch incredibly high prices, especially if still sealed in the original box! But due to its terrible condition, I managed to get it dirt cheap, for only a couple of bucks! Even though the seller said "it turns on" when turning it on, it wouldn't respond. I'm sure this is why they were selling it at such a low price, not knowing that it's actually pretty easy to fix. Scratched shell, rusted screw, no sound, dirty contacts, it was in rough shape. In this video, I disassemble, clean, repair, and revive it by fixing broken components, replacing a faulty speaker, polishing the screen, and even reinforcing the shell with some epoxy glue. After all the work, the Tamagotchi beeps back to life, which after all those years, still holds a save file from its past owner.
