The clarification was issued on X after reports circulated following an interview of former US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor on One America News Network (OAN), where he claimed that American forces were using Indian naval bases in the conflict with Iran. Rejecting the claims, the MEA described the reports as “fake, baseless and fabricated” and urged people to remain cautious about such misinformation. The ministry emphasised that the allegations regarding the use of Indian ports for military operations against Iran have no factual basis.
