OWN YOUR OWN PIECE OF HISTORY An iconic two-storey Federation home originally built in 1897 as the York Hospital, the main purpose to cater for the sick men on their way to and from the goldfields. It was thoughtfully designed by the Chief Government architect George Temple-Poole. The home was utilised as the York Hospital until the 1960's when it was sold to the Methodist Church who used it as a school camp until 1976 when the National Trust purchased it. The current owners acquired the property 20 years ago and converted it into the family home it is today. The property includes multiple buildings, including the grand two-storey residence and 3 other residences. The front home of the 3 was originally the maternity hospital, the home behind utilised as the matron's residence and the final home was the laundry building. All 3 home are rentable and the approximate rent totals $37,000 per annum. The main residence and the 3 separate buildings are all protected by the Heritage Council of WA. The documents relating to this are available to be viewed at our office, Bourkes, Como. The site does have the future potential of being a function centre, exhibition centre, restaurant, art gallery, short term accommodation or become your next family home.
