Barnacle Goose – 145 Days From Egg to Survivor The life of a barnacle goose begins on steep coastal cliffs in the Arctic, where nests are built far from predators. After weeks of incubation, the goslings hatch covered in soft down, but their first challenge comes almost immediately. Within days, they must leap from high cliffs to reach feeding grounds below—a dangerous fall that only the strongest survive. Once on the ground, the young geese follow their parents across tundra and wetlands, learning to graze on grass and low vegetation. The parents remain highly protective, guiding them away from predators such as foxes and birds of prey. As the weeks pass, the goslings grow stronger and develop their feathers, gradually preparing for flight. By around 145 days, they become capable of long-distance migration. From a fragile beginning on towering cliffs, the barnacle goose transforms into a resilient survivor, ready to travel thousands of kilometers across the wild. #birds #nature #documentary #GoldenEagle #Wildlife #NatureDocumentary #BirdOfPrey#Animail Flagfish
